How about a DS150E Delphi VCi Diag tool for Autocom from china. Could be used on cars and trucks and has bluetooth. Have a bunch of connectors/adapters that go with it.

I use a version of the launch tool at work, works reaaly well. Sometimes shows trouble codes that the snap on verus edge wont without you knowimg the error is there.. Hard to explain but I worked on a Subaru with an active grill that showed an error cuz it hadn't calibrated itself. The very showed no errors until I looked directly at the active grill data stream. The launch tool could activate the grill but no option for open or close, just activate. Sometimes the launch tool is good but if you need in depth live data the launch tool I use wont do. But is still a good tool for somethings

Do you know if you can run a function test on the abs system and perform a abs bleed on a gm truck with it?

It would be awesome if some day, a company would come out with just the app and bluetooth adapter that are sold by itself. A good percentage of the cost in one of these, is the tablet. If you already have a tablet, it would be great if you could buy just the app, and the adapter and have it cost considerably less. I am hoping that development for the ELM327 will get to a point where it can be used for everything. I recently tried FORScan with an ELM327, and it is fantastic what you can do with it.

Well that's just sad this will put snap on out of business. There's no more loyalty to usa made products. Snap on pioneered the trouble shooter, the guided component test. The invaluable information that came with only snap on. Bi directional controls are on snap on scanners. Yes they're pricey but guys have been buying used ones to save some money and still support snap on. I'll keep my snap on scanners and be proud to own them. And if you need bi directional capability and don't have it. All you need is the understanding of circuit design pull up or pull down and apply power or ground with a test light.

    Hey Stephen
Will it work on the auto leveling system for a Hummer H2 (2006)
Would be nice to be able to manually test (turn on and off) the $2,500 built in compressor and the leveling switches using the scan tool

That alone would be worth buying the scan tool , when it’s min -30c with 3feet of new snow it would be nice not having to crawl under the vehicle to preform switch or compressor tests

I’m up in the great white north 🇨🇦

Ok Stephen, I’m a high school shop teacher with a limited equipment budget and It sounds too good to be true…I am looking at a $1000 update for my OTC Genisys, now I am looking into this. Would it be easy for students to navigate? Does it do much with TPMS? I know it gets your seal of approval…what about for students? Thanks for the info!
FYI : I worked a side job for a month as a trade for my first scan tool…..THE BRICK!! I had to chuckle when you pulled that out!!

hay you can make one from rasberry pi cheep but nothing will put snap on tools out of business if you dont understand tools then you dont know what a joy snap on tools are compared to any other tool ever made, from screw drivers to hi teck electrical /diagnostic tools nothing beats a snap on but a day fishing

The Launch is a great tool as scan only. Cost wise is much better than the $15,000 for my Verus much less the Zues and $125 monthly subscription. The down side is I'd have to purchase a lab scope with all the connections and pre set up info from somewhere so there is a value to be sure.

This scan tool that cost $400 should go very dipper and read dipper in electronic

Check out A wholly owned subsidiary of Launch China is what I heard. I bought a device called M-Diag Lite. Bluetooth with one manufacturer software about $80. Bidirectional communication. Example, I bled the HCU on my Ram. Additional software about 40-60 each. Some of the special features also cost $$. Some limitations and about zero in the way of support. I haven't bought the package for Acura yet, but have been very pleased with it so far

Are there scan tools that can read fuel pressure real time in my 2002 Silverado 5.3? I have one that reads one way real time sensor data while running or driving but not fuel pressure. I had over 200K miles on the original fuel pump but the replacement pump lasted about 10K miles and I would like to check the pressure without rigging up my fuel pressure tester inside the truck if possible. I see OBD II codes for fuel pressure but I don't know if my scanner doesn't read them or if my old truck doesn't use them.

yes launch scanner is ok . the mechanics i know in the chicago area they just buy snap on and dont know how to use
them …..most of the mechanics ,,, they just relay to the codes and change parts instead of doing propper diagnostics
..i have used launch for the most part for the last 2 years it works wonderful it dont have a lot a feautures on foreing or imports though

I don’t know everything there is to know about scan tools but I bought one at my last job the boos had a real good snap on one I think Solus or something. I wanted one for at home just to have to fix my or others vehicles if needed and my snap on guy had a trade in used ethos plus for $500 I got it for $400 and am happy with it but my update is only good for vehicles up to 2013 and older and to buy the update it’s like $200 or $300. And my scanner I don’t think does nearly as much as this one does. I would definitely consider it if I was in the market for one with all those functions that’s a great price and I seen that it comes with free 2 year updates. The only thing that I would be looking for if buying one from a over seas company is if they come with a decent warranty and that it is a somewhat known brand just in case something happens to it I didn’t really research this one just the price. But I’m sure it’s not bad if your reviewing it. Thanks for the video

What happens after two years when the free upgrades run out? Can you renew? If so at what cost? Thx!

    August 13, 2018 at 2:33 am

At close to $1,000.00 if not cheap.
ATG says buying the latest tools or equipment WILL NOT help you fix a car.
Just pay a guy for *$15.00 to use the scanner or auto parts stores for free.

I have never seen or know a mechanic that make $100/hr.
I fires many mechanics that are certified over guys/gals that want to learn & know about cars.

** a tips from $15-30 and a printout are much cheaper than buying one of this.
