Love your channel, just the way it is Chris. Your 'Give it a go and see' attitude is fantastic and inspires me to try more stuff on my car. I don't understand why people don't just go watch something else if they don't like it. Keep up the great work.

You do great Chris! You have progressed faster then anyone could have imagined. Although I am not a fan of wide body stance stuff, I do like lots of what you do. I just got my latest daily running well an as soon as I can there will be a BIFB sticker on it!

Don't worry about the YouTube commentary section " experts" criticizing from their plush office chairs. Didn't you know they are all structural engineers?

    August 9, 2018 at 2:42 am

I'm glad I've always left good and helpful comments and NEVER Put anyone or anything down. I love what you do and cant get enough of it!

Don't do it for anyone else but you and yours. That's the road to contentment and enjoyment. However I really dig what you do and that it's not a big pro show. Those shows bore me after half an hour. You I've been watching since the black 3 serires BMW. Makin it work takes a little longer, makin it work takes a little time. Rock on!

I've always thought the chassis was over engineered … but just like you said Chris – It's about learning and challenging YOURSELF. 100% love what you're doing and it is DEF giving me a LOT of inspiration for my future planned project!

  14. Doesn't Matter

    August 9, 2018 at 3:46 am

I watch and subscribed a couple months back because of how you do things. You show that things can be built out of a garage with basically minimal tools. and uhhhhh…..Even the "professionals" make changes along the way or huge mistakes. Keep it up this is a great channel!!!!

    August 9, 2018 at 4:01 am

Nah man you’re all good. I enjoy watching all these DIY learning projects. It helps a lot of grassroots builders like myself step out of our comfort zone as well. Keep doin you man 🤙🏽

My thoughts exactly. I read these hater comments and think to myself, "If you don't like what you're watching then move on".

I love that you've got the balls to take on a project like this, that you've got the balls to work things out as you go and that you've got the balls to be honest when you make mistakes. Keep up the good work Chris!

Hi Chris. Really appreciated this update – I read through yesterday's comments and saw the level of negativity. I really like your ethos of: unashamed amateur, brave enough to have a go, honest enough to be transparent with progress. Your channel is all about bravery in the best possible way: having a go even if you're not sure how it's going to turn out whereas others (and myself absolutely included in this) are not willing to even take that first step. We're all vicariously living our project car dreams through your channel.

Also as an old guy, go easy on the mad body kit and try and keep some of the original 240Z elegance, suspension notwithstanding. I'd hope the M5Z (to use someone else's name for the car!) is a long term keeper and you want something with lasting appeal and a bit of suave coolness to go with the inspiring build, not just screaming "look at me". All the best.

Just have to say that the build is awesome. I really like body that have chosen, and looking forward to seeing it come together. You are a big inspiration to me.

    So uh… That's a $200 speaker… For $70….. That's a really really good deal

    August 9, 2018 at 9:14 am

Good things Chris. I’m glad you’re helping people to recenter on the ethos of this channel. And you are being so humble by telling us about your experience and struggles with this build. I’m glad you’re having a fresh perspective and second look on the frame rails. You’re possibly gonna come out faster and better by doing this now rather than trying to struggle with your dimensions on the rest of this build. Keep up your brave and adventurous efforts buddy!

  28. Chris McNarry

    August 9, 2018 at 9:44 am

Chris, don’t listen to the haters, I love what you do and the way you do it. Sending positive vibes from accross the pond my friend.

  29. Mark Vanderwolf

    August 9, 2018 at 10:58 am

Ignore the trolls and tools dude. The shit you're doin here is nuts, and most of these lazy pricks wouldn't be able to build a Lego car. Keep it up and enjoy what you're doin!

  30. Colin Ahearn

    August 9, 2018 at 11:07 am

Chris, I'm turboing my 3.0 in my Ranger. I'm learning live ECU tuning, welding, basic metal fab and machining, and changing a clutch on a 4×4. A year ago, I wouldn't have thought of doing any of it, but you show there's always a way to fix what you break, learn from it, and mod anything you want. You're a definite inspiration and a hard worker, don't let the infamous friggin YouTube Comment Section bring you down lol. Just keep on building, bud.

tl;dr Chris you're sick, keep building sick cars

  31. Hunter Bogosian

    August 9, 2018 at 11:20 am

Hi Chris. I do not comment often on any channel. I love watching your videos and love the attitude that you have. You are an inspiration for many. Haters are going to hate, because they are jealous that they don't have the same drive that you do. Keep up the hard work and more importantly keep having fun with everything you are doing.

  32. talontsi92

    August 9, 2018 at 12:22 pm

You know what Chris? Anyone who spends the time to talk shit about what you are doing in this build, versus speaking constructively has never done either of the following.

    1. Built a car. Even when you know what you are doing, sometimes you do things in the wrong order, or things dont quite go to plan… whatever. Shit happens.

    2. Taught themselves how to do something that is WAY outside what they are normally comfortable with. What you are doing is NOT easy. It takes time, money, and dedication. Apparently the "keyboard warriors" think that you show up with a welder and an idea and magically shit out an epically awesome, structurally sound, and most importantly SAFE car.

Not how it works homies. You all can learn something from Chris.

    TRY SOMETHING HARD. It's rewarding.

    August 9, 2018 at 12:56 pm

I wonder how many cars / mods the haters have built?? Screw them Chris, keep doing what your doing its working! Practice makes perfect!

  34. Busters Garage

    August 9, 2018 at 1:20 pm

HAHA, so many people are born both a critic and an expert! Saying that, I enjoy these videos thoroughly and agree you shouldn’t get wrapped up in the comments and ultimately keep your recipe yours, because that’s what is making things work and AS you grow, so does your work.

IF everyone builds the same, car shows would be pretty uneventful…. Chevy loves a small block V8, while Subaru love the boxer… but you cant rule out Mazda and their rotary engine!? And I’m big on reproducibility… How can something be “wrong” when ONE builder does it once and finds it not to their liking. Or worse, when they never build something themselves, but rip the hell out of someone else’s idea/work. Same goes with how can something be the ONLY way to do it, if only one or a few people had moderate success. Like ancient cultures drilling holes in someone’s head to relieve a headache…. Sure, it worked.. but…

Hello Chris, I've been with you for since the mustang build. I understand your frustration. You inspired me to quit my major in clinical laboratory science, which I hated, and switch to automotive tech', which I really dig. I love what you do, I don't care if your builds take 50 episodes because they always incorporate honesty. Even if you make mistakes it helps me learn not to make the same ones. Your triumphs and mistakes help me not get burned out and lose my passion for cars. I really appreciate your work Chris and i'm sorry I cant support your channel through the store, but you know how student life goes >.<' One day I'll be able to buy some sweet merch and I'll buy a whole damn box worth lol

    August 9, 2018 at 5:36 pm

You are the one putting in the work, no worries about these guys being obnoxious. The build is coming along never the less! Looking forward to seeing what is next. A lot of your work inspires me to go out and work on my mustang, I think to myself well damn if Chris can do a bunch of crazy stuff then I can at least get out and do this repair or make this minor modification.

Keep it up! you have taken the DIY TIll WE die to the Next Level. Its refreshing to see that someone else makes mistakes too. It takes a brave person to OWN it. Can't wait to see this car at SEMA!
