2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Car Review

The legendary Raptor pickup is a prerunner that you can buy straight off the Ford lot. The second generation is now available at a dealership near you but the V8 engine has been replaced by a turbo V6. Tom and Martin check out this change in rural Washington and meet a couple of Raptor fans plus… a real raptor.

About Tom:
Tom Voelk is an award-winning automotive contributor to The New York Times. His podcast was the first to win an Emmy Award. He also married way out of his league. Now, stop reading this promotional copy bragging about Tom’s photography and editing skills and watch a couple episodes. It’s much more interesting.

Tom, yet another in a long line of the most superbly produced car review videos available anywhere. We have something in common. I am the proud owner of a loaded 2017 Raptor and a few drones, one of which I got stuck in a tree also. My battery did not fall out and I was able to rock it with the motors to free it. It did burn out 2 motors though. Love my Raptor. Traded a Porsche Macan Turbo and haven’t looked back. 6,000 mile round trip drive from NY to The Dragon, Rt 129, where it acquitted itself very well, on to Nashville, Boulder, and Arches, Bryce and Zion, with plenty of off roading. It’s a great vehicle. Hope the 2017 holds value even close to the Gen 1. Great Work, sir.

I am definitely not a truck person, I'd rather have a Expedition over a F150 anyday, but not this… This thing is a beast!

Can you say "The Raptor" instead of "Raptor"? I've always found this odd. You don't say I would like to eat Hamburger, do you?

For all of you wondering about the drip at around 5 minutes, it's a detailing product called "speed shine" that I was keeping in there. The bottle had leaked a little.

Really dislike the sound of the ecoboost. Would take less performance in exchange for that 6.2L V8 sound. Should have at least be an option to spec the v8

When they opened the center console something dripped by the hinges

  44. Danny Murphy

You had a Raptor. No need to call the tree service guys just tie some para cord to the hitch or w/e and tie the other end to the tree, throw the raptor in 4 hi, turn off traction and stability mode shift into manual mode, 1st gear, then (make sure there's plenty of slack so you can build enough speed.) then floor it, you want the para cord to tense when the raptor has accelerated to about 8 mph. It won't uproot the tree (that's what the new super duty line up is for) but it'll shake the tree violently and knock your drone on down! Also, it shouldn't hurt the Ford!

I have no idea what I'm talking about and I shouldn't own or be around heavy machinery.

    Do it though.

Since the new F-250's frame is 2400{09838598f11ec8d1b53c76126f66188d805d21cc55ad38a0e06196f6f3ec5878} strong than the already ridiculously strong predecessor I bet that'd be able to accomplish much more impressive feats of strength, like demolition: tie chain to goose neck hitch, tie other end of chain to the chimney in the house, (this had better be a VERY strong 75-100 foot chain) and follow the aforementioned steps for the Raptor drone retrieval project. Definitely clear out the house first because that bitch is goin' down!

Love Driven, love the raptor, love twin peaks and cherry pie, don’t need the opinion of a dude wearing flip flops in the woods. Cheapens Driven’s usual quality.
